My Journey...

After working for low-paying companies and stressful schools, I decided to become an independent teacher. I figured out how to find curriculum, attract students, manage payments and create a system that has allowed me to triple my hourly rate, give me a flexible schedule and teach students and subjects which I love the most. Now, my passion is to coach other teachers working for companies such as Cambly, Whales English, VIPKids (and traditional schools) so that they can find the joy of becoming independent online teachers just like I did.

FAQ

  • When are the LIVE Group Coaching Sessions?

    The live group coaching sessions are at 22:00 BJT / 2pm UK / 9am EST / 4pm SA. There will be recordings uploaded after the sessions if you can't attend the live events.

  • How easy will it be to use the software, I'm not very good at technology!

    Koala Go is the software we will learn how to use in the course. There is a 24/7 help line with a REAL person to support you at all times. You also get a complementary onboarding session that you can book with a staff member. Abridge Academy has a great Facebook support group and the founder, Katie, is extremely supportive in answering questions you have in her FB group. Brenda also has a Facebook Group for Young Learners Curriculum where you can get support.

  • Will I only be able to teach English as a subject?

    As an independent teacher, you will be able to choose what subject you teach to what age group you prefer. I will suggest popular curriculums to use for children and adult ESL learners, but you are able to teach any subject to any age as an independent teacher and use the skills from this Mini-Course to help you.
